K-drama couple Kang Dong Gun and Go So Young celebrated their fifth anniversary on May 8. The actress observed the event by posting a picture on Instagram.

"It's the fifth wedding anniversary," she wrote. "Taking pictures of each other."

To celebrate their fifth anniversary, let's take a look back at their k-drama relationship. Kang Dong Gun and Go So Young met on the set of the film "Love Wind Love Song" in 1999. But it wasn't love at first sight.

"Jang Dong Gun and I had known each other since our debuts into the celebrity world and we were the best of friends," said Go So Young.

Despite rumors that they were dating, they remained just friends. But then in a case of life-imitating k-drama romance, the rumors became fact. The actors met years later when they both happened to be in Los Angeles. They had dinner together, sparks flew and they became more than friends.

"After meeting up in America we went on to become a couple," said Go So Young. "I still cherish the text messages that we sent to each other at the time."

They finally went public with their relationship in 2009 and married in 2010.

They almost broke up once because she felt he was not ready for marriage. On a 2012 episode of the television show 'Healing Camp," she confessed that she wanted to end the relationship because he did not seem ready to settle down. She was starting to think about marriage and babies and he still liked to party with his friends.

"I came to a conclusion that Jang Dong Gun wasn't ready for marriage," said Go. "So I told him 'let's just be friends.' But then, he changed his pattern showed his efforts and I could see that he was serious about our relationship."

Jang Dong Gun credits his 2012 drama "A Gentleman's Dignity" with teaching him a lot about what women want.

"Through the drama, I learned a great deal about how women think," said Jang Dong Gun. "I thought, so, this is what women like. I didn't know that women liked back hugs."

Go So Young was four months pregnant when the couple married. That year she gave birth to their son, Jang Min Joon. Their second child, a daughter, was born in February 2014. Jang Dong Gun attended prenatal classes during the pregnancy and did the exercises despite his busy filming schedule for the 2014 film "No Tears For The Dead."

While pregnant Go So Young worked on the MBC documentary "Mom Has A Dream Too." The documentary is about single moms in Korea.

Congratulations Jang Dong Gun and Go So Young!
