According to an exclusive report published in the economic section of the Korea Herald, Sulli (Choi Jin Ri) has decided to officially withdraw from the dance-pop group, f(x). In the article published on June 25, unnamed industry insiders confirmed her departure from the idol group, citing her desire to pursue an acting career.

The exclusive article outlined the potential plans for the idol and f(x). "While Sulli is leaving f(x), she will continue her relationship with SM Entertainment until her contract expires," said the writer for the Korea Herald. "Krystal, Victoria, Luna and Amber will prepare to come back as a four-member group."

This report follows increased speculation regarding her departure, which escalated in 2014. An onslaught of rumors, most of which centered around her potential relationship with Dynamic Duo's Choiza, may have driven Sulli to request a break from promotional activities. On July 25, 2014, SM confirmed that Sulli would embark on a hiatus from performing within the Korean entertainment industry. Her hiatus was announced in the midst of promotions for the f(x) release, "Red Light."

While it was previously considered to be a rumor, SM Entertainment and Amoeba Culture confirmed that Sulli was dating Choiza on August 19, 2014.

Sulli has appeared in several prominent acting roles including her portrayal of Goo Jae Hee in the 2012 series, "To the Beautiful You" and her portrayal of Kwak Eun Jin in "Fashion King."

According to the report, f(x) would release new music, after the upcoming comeback activities of Girls' Generation. It should be noted that representatives for SM Entertainment were not quoted in the article.
