On July 15, rumors began to surface on Chinese social media including Baidu and Weibo, which cited a Korean industry insider who purported to have knowledge of the next career move of Lee Jong Suk. According to the rumored reports, Lee Jong Suk could be considering another acting role.
The "Pinocchio" star is rumored to join the upcoming MBC production, "Saver." According to insider reports, "Saver" is the latest work of "God's Gift-14 Days" screenwriter, Choi Ran. Choi was also responsible for the 2008 period series, "Iljimae," which starred Lee Joon Gi.
While no confirmation has been made, social media users are hopeful that Lee Jong Suk is in fact considering a role in the project.
The 25-year-old model-turned-actor has portrayed a diverse range of roles since his screen debut in the film short, "Sympathy." His characters have included the iconic role of Han Tae Sun, a homosexual songwriter in "Secret Garden" and the conflicted highschooler Go Nam Soon in "School 2013."
His character in "School 2013" served as a breakout role for the young actor, with the series generating buzz for his rising career, along with Kim Woo Bin. Lee capitalized on the popularity of the drama to star as Park Soo Ha in the 2013 supernatural legal drama, "I Can Hear Your Voice."
Lee recently starred in the Hallyu hit, "Pinocchio," opposite Park Shin Hye. The chemistry between the two stars was so strong that fans and critics continue to wonder if the actors are dating, in real-life.
Hopefully, Lee Jong Suk will return to K-Drama, soon. According to rumors, "Saver" will air in early 2016.
