Taylor Swift opened up about her feud with Katy Perry in her most recent Vanity Fair cover. Calvin Harris’ girlfriend talked about how she was betrayed by a former friend and said that she has no plans of mending their friendship.
"I've trusted people before in friendships or relationships and have felt betrayed," she told Vanity Fair.
Taylor Swift reportedly refused to expound on her longstanding feud with Katy Perry but she admitted that she learned her lesson with trusting too much. The "Bad Blood" singer added that popularity and social standing mean little to her. She said that above everything else, one's personality defines us.
"I judge people based on their moral code; I think someone is nothing without a moral code. I don't care if you're talented or celebrated or successful or rich or popular, if you have no moral code," she explained.
Taylor Swift added that she's done playing the nice girl. She said that she's no longer afraid of eliminating people in her life who only wants to bring her down.
"If you will betray your friend, if you will talk about them badly behind their back, if you will try to humiliate them or talk down to them, I have no interest in having a person like that in my life," she said.
Taylor first opened up about her fued with Katy late last year. Contrary to claims that the feud started with John Mayer, she claimed that it started when Katy tried to sabotage her tour.
"She did something so horrible. I was like, 'Oh, we're just straight-up enemies.'" she told Rolling Stone.
"And it wasn't even about a guy! It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me."
