Lee Jong Suk has been offered a role in the upcoming drama, "Beautiful Mind." According to a report published by the Korean outlet OSEN, the "Pinocchio" star recently received a casting offer for the medical drama.
The series, which was previously referred to as "Dr. Frankenstein," focuses on the intellectually based field of neuroscience.
OSEN provided a detailed account of the drama. Lee Jong Suk has been considered for the character Lee Young Oh, a brilliant but emotionally flawed neurosurgeon, who suffers from mental illness due to a frontal lobe disorder.
Lee previously portrayed a conflicted surgeon in the 2014 medical espionage series, "Doctor Stranger." "Doctor Stranger" focused on the conflicted emotionality of a young doctor who unwillingly defected to North Korea, as a child.
OSEN noted that Lee was in consideration for the role due to his superior skills, good looks, and ability to play characters with cold personalities.
Representatives for his agency Wellmade Yedang provided a statement to MBN, which confirmed that the star was offered the role but has yet to accept it. "The offer for 'Beautiful Mind' is currently under review," said a spokesperson for the agency. "But no decision has been made to confirm his appearance."
The 25-year-old model-turned-actor has become renown for the depth of his emotional range and ability to capture a wide range of characters, on-screen. He captured the attention of audiences as Go Nam Soon in the 2012 series, "School 2013," before tackling the iconic role of Park Soo Ha in "I Can Hear Your Voice."
