Ricky Rubio remains confident that the Minnesota Timberwolves would not trade him this season.

"I have confidence that the team wants me," he told Fox Sports.

The starting point guard, however, admitted that he had heard rumors about a future trade circulating online. He said that the best way to deal with it is to just to stay focus and not let it get to him.

"In this league anybody can get traded," he said.

"You don't listen to the rumours. You just live day-by-day and that's it."

Ricky Rubio added that if it were up to him, he would play for the Minnesota Timberwolves until the end of his career.

The NBA star was allegedly being courted by the New York Knicks last season. It was said that if Rubio were to play for a "more successful" team, his career would improve tremendously.

"If he played in a bigger market or for a more successful team, it's fair to say he'd be something close to a league-wide star," Uproxx pointed out.

"Rubio boasts arguably the league's best court vision, and is capable of dazzling ballhandling and passing displays that only a select few can duplicate."

The outlet, however, held that Rubio needed to work on his shooting skills.

"He's never made at least 39 percent of his field goals in four NBA seasons, and established career-low accuracy from beyond the arc and inside the restricted area during 2014-2015."

Meanwhile, multiple reports suggest that the Minnesota Timberwolves will be willing to trade Ricky Rubio when the right time and price comes. Although the team insisted that they are not shopping Rubio, the rumors do not seem to die down.

ESPN's Darren Wolfson confirmed that the Wolves have no interest in letting go of the 24-year-old point guard. He, however, tweeted that the Sacramento Kings and Dallas Mavericks showed interest in acquiring the athlete in 2014.
