The latest NBA rumors suggest that the Minnesota Timberwolves are going to trade Ricky Rubio soon.
"I'm hearing that the Minnesota Timberwolves are actually look at potentially moving off of Rubio at this point," said Ric Bucher of Bleacher Report.
"They've seen enough, and they do not believe that he is the future, in spite of the fact that he's only 24."
As pointed out by Yibada, the Timberwolves are determined to trade the point guard for they wanted to give the reigns to younger guards Tyrus Jones and Zach Lavine. The outlet added that the team has been concerned about his performance in the past season, pointing out that although he showed great potential his offense still remained a work in progress.
Although, it has yet to be confirmed as to which team has expressed interest in Ricky Rubio, the publication held that the New York Knicks may just be willing to take the player.
The outlet also hinted that Rubio will be a good match for the Portland Trail Blazers, as he play alongside Damian Lillard. The former may still need to work on his offense, but it was said that he and Lillard will eventually make a good team.
"Rubio, although offensively challenged, could play well alongside Lillard, being a past-first point guard that he's and an above average perimeter defender."
Multiple reports suggest that the Minnesota Timberwolves are not in a rush to trade Ricky Rubio this season but they wanted to keep their options open.
"I'm hearing that they're quiet right now," Bucher continued.
"But that they could return to looking to see what they could get for Rubio once the season begins and some things shake out for some other teams, because they don't have any specific trade partners at the moment."
