'Arrow' Season 4 Spoilers: Premiere Episode Focus On Olicity? Felicity Takes CEO Role From Ray Palmer

The latest "Arrow" season 4 spoilers suggest that the coming episode will have a much lighter tone compared to previous seasons.

"Our goal was to return the show more in the tone of the first season-and-a-half," executive producer Marc Guggenheim told Entertainment Weekly.

"Ever since Slade Wilson [Manu Bennett] came to town around [season 2, episode 15], the show has been on this very, very dark path, leading to Sara's [Caity Lotz] death and the culmination of season 3."

Guggenheim added that fans will get to see more of Olicity in the coming episodes. A happier side of Oliver (Stephen Amell) will be revealed as he gets to spend much time with Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards).

"It still feels like 'Arrow,' but at the same time, Oliver's got a new outlook on life," Guggenheim added.

"We're driving conflict to the show in ways that we never would have in the first three years. So it still feels like Arrow, but it's a different take on the show."

In other "Arrow" season 4 spoilers, Carter Matt also hinted that Emily Bett Rickards' Felicity will take on more exciting roles in the show. Following Ray Palmer's death, she will reportedly try to run the company on her own. The publication pointed out that it was great to see Felicity coming to her own and not just in Oliver's shadows.

"We do like the idea of Felicity having something going on that is incredibly impressive, and it is a nice little role-reversal from where Oliver was the super-wealthy company man in season 1 and she was working under him in one of the departments."

Executive producer Wendy Mericle shared that Felicity will be more independent in the coming episodes.

"She's no longer just the IT girl or Vice President under Palmer," she told TV Line.

"She's the full-blown CEO, and it's an opportunity to really see that character grow up and be challenged in ways we haven't seen before."
