Poor IU. The solo singer and star of "You're The Best Lee Soon Shin" has been the subject of so many rumors and none of them have turned out to be true. But the most damaging one, she said this week on the SBS show "Incarnation," was entirely her fault.

First, there was the rumor that she and actor Lee Jong Suk were feuding. Not true. While they had their issues when they appeared on the program "Inkigayo" together, they became and remain good friends. The second rumor was that she was close with actor Kim Woo Bin. Well, she is friendly with his friend Lee Jong Suk but that rumor actually started when Kim Woo Bin pretended to be best friends with IU to impress his little cousin.

And then there was the most damaging rumor, the one started by the photo that she posted to Twitter. In the photo she wears pajamas that fans gave her and cuddling up to an apparently shirtless Eunhyuk of Super Junior. It looked as if the couple were lying in bed. Although she quickly realized the photo might give fans the wrong idea, by the time she removed it the damage was done. Rumors spread quickly that the two were dating and planning to marry.

Her agency quickly squashed those rumors saying that IU, whose real name is Lee Ji Eun, was sick when the photo was taken and being cared for by her friend Eunhyuk. The two have been close friends since her debut and he often spends time with her and her mother.

"The picture was taken when IU was very sick last summer," said an announcement made by her agency, LOEN Entertainment. "Eunhyuk was visiting her and they took the picture on a couch."

The agency went on to say that the singer felt very sorry about the confusion the picture caused and apologizes to Eunhyuk for any trouble it caused.

She was horrified when she realized the picture had gone viral.

"I was so sorry to many people," IU said. "Since I did it myself, I thought, whom should I feel the most apologetic to? Should I be sorry to the people who loved me? Or should I be sorry to the people who loved Eunhyuk?"

She wondered whether she should issue a public apology to clear up the misunderstanding or just stay quiet. Unable to decide, she postponed appearances on variety shows. Meanwhile, her agency expressed their disappointment that such a false rumor could spread so quickly. They asked netizens to stop spreading rumors about IU and vowed to take legal action against anyone who did.

"Our company will be reporting this rumor to the police and will take legal action against the person who first created the rumors as well as the people who spread the rumors actively."

"I was so sorry," said IU when she appeared on "Incarnation." "I realize how many people I have hurt by my actions."

Eunhyuk did not blame her and the two have remained friends.

"He asked me if I was okay," said IU. "I'm just so sorry to everyone for everything."
