When actress Park Ye Jin and actor Park Hee Soon recently attended the VIP screening of the film "The Terror Live" in Seoul, it was a rare public appearance for the couple. The two have dated since 2009 and only admitted they were a couple in 2011.
Park Hee Soon, who played prosecutor Song Joon Ha in the recent comedy "All About My Romance," met Park Ye Jin, who plays Genghis Khan's wife in this year's film "And End To Killing" when the two signed on to the same management agency. Rumors say that Park Hee Soon first saw Park Ye Jin at a company dinner and then planned to attend every event she might be at. He made the first move and asked her for a date.
Friends say that he her because she is kind and honest. She likes him because he is good-natured and has a great sense of humor. The couple dated quietly for two years, carefully avoiding any publicity, before they felt confident enough to let the public know.
"Admitting to a relationship is not easy for actors or actresses or other celebrities," said Park Ye Jin shortly after they went public. "But we are enjoying each other's company."
The couple found a way to date quietly and also to gracefully deal with the difference in their ages. The actor is 43 and the actress is 32.
They live in the same neighborhood and although they prefer to keep a low profile, they are occasionally seen driving together or walking around. Park Hee Soon also likes to stop by when Park Ye Jin is filming and was a frequent visitor on the set of her tvN drama "I Love Italy."
Friends and fans have asked them when they plan to marry but the couple remains quiet on the subject. A representative from their entertainment agency said that the topic of marriage is inevitable considering their ages, but they are not at that stage yet.
"They match quite well as a couple, so I hope people will support them instead of pressure them," said the representative.
Park Hee Soon had roles in the films, "Seven Days," "The Scam," Barefoot Dream," "The Client" and appears in "The Suspect." Park Ye Jin debuted in the film "Memento Mori" and has acted in the dramas "Something Happened in Bali," "Queen Seonduk," "My Princess" and the fantasy romance "I Love Tae Ri." She is also well known for her frequent guest appearances on the variety show "Family Outing."
