Uhm Tae Woong and his two-year-old daughter Uhm Ji On are saying goodbye to the variety show "The Return of Superman."
The daughter and dad duo participated in the show for 10 months. Uhm Tae Woong, last seen in the drama "Valid Love," decided to leave the variety show to focus on his acting career.
"Uhm Tae Woong stated that he wanted to focus on his activities as an actor," a representative for the program told enewsworld. "After taking his movie filming preparations and different commitments into consideration, he decided to step down from the show."
The show's producer Kang Bong Kyu said that the last show featuring the actor and his daughter has not been filmed yet but they will not be appear after November. Choo Sung Hoon, Song Il Kook, Lee Hwi Jae and Lee Dong Gook′s families will continue on. A new family will not be joining the show.
"We don't have any plans for additions," said Kang.
On "The Return of Superman" celebrity dads are left to care for their kids alone for 48 hours while their wives go out and relax. During those 48 hours, the dads must complete the to-do list left by their wives and take the children out for a fun activity. Sometimes celebrity friends stop by for a visit.
It's not always the dad who decides to drop out of the program.
This week Epik High singer Tablo also commented on his reason for leaving the program, which he appeared on with his daughter Haru. They left in December 2014 shortly before Uhm Tae Woong and his daughter began their run.
For Tablo it was not wanting to spend more time on his career but the fact that his daughter was not having fun anymore. He told the Korean media outlet Ilgan Sports that he treasured their time on the show and often rewatched episodes that served as the equivalent of home videos. But, he said, they stopped because she wanted to.
'One hundred percent of the reason why we left 'The Return of Superman' is because Haru said she wanted to stop."
Haru told her father that they could continue to play without the cameras rolling.
