Kate Winslet has earned much acclaim in her celebrated career and now she has a new goal - to endeavour into Broadway.
According to People Magazine, the 40-year-old British actress said that she does not know how to take things related with Broadway ahead but she is determined to fulfil it.
The "Titanic" star turned 40 on Oct. 5, has one Emmy Award for "Mildred Pierce," one GRAMMY for a word album, and an Academy for her role in "The Reader." Currently, she is a 'prize winner' under.all prize listing, except for the Tony Award.
During the promotion of her upcoming movie, the topic of Broadway came up several times, even during at TimesTalks in NYC on Tuesday.
According to Entertainment Tonight, when an audience member asked her if she has any plans to star in a Broadway, Kate pointed to Aaron Sorkin and asked him to start working on it so that she can play the role and win a Tony. "People have recently pointed this out to me and now it's like, 'Oh, it's a thing. It's going to be a thing. Am I going to have to have it as a goal? I never really had one of those but I suppose I'm going to have to have one now aren't I?'"
ETOnline also reported that during the event when she was asked about Broadway, Kate said that she never actually gave Broadway a thought. "I don't know how the hell I will figure that out, but like with 'Steve Jobs,' where there is a will, there is a way."
Kate Winslet's next film will based on a novel by Rosaile Ham. In an upcoming Australian revenge comedy film, "The Dressmaker," Kate will be seen in a title role of the dressmaker named Myrtle 'Tilly' Dunnage. In the novel, Myrtle returns to her small Australian town to take care of her mentally unstable mother.
