With their delicate features and metrosexual charm, flower boy actors are one of the guilty pleasures of watching kdramas. But if you had to decide which flower boy actors were the prettiest, it might be difficult. Here are a few flower boys of the moment that make the list.
1. Kim Jae Wook is currently playing a mournful ghost in "Who Are You?" And there's nothing sadder than a watching a flower boy ghost cry. He was first seen as the pretty boy waffle maker that drove girls crazy in "Coffee Prince." He played Moon Geun Young's contracted husband in "Mary Stayed Out All Night" and a character with demonic charm in "Antique Bakery."
2. Song Joong Ki, who heads off to the army this month, broke hearts with his first leading role in "Nice Guy" and bromanced Yoo Ah In in "Sungkyunkwan Scandal." He also played the lead character last year in the film "A Werewolf Boy."
3. Lee Jong Suk is the flower boy of the moment, popular for his starring role in the drama "I Hear Your Voice." He's described as a noona-killer, meaning that he appeals to older women. He appears in the new film "Face Reader" and is filming two others, "No Breathing" and "Boiling Youth."
4. Kim Bum earned flower boy status when he appeared in "Boys Over Flowers" as one of F4, the four flower boys who ruled an upscale high school. He has taken some serious roles since then, as an angel in "Padam Padam" and a gambler in "That Winter The Wind Blows." He now plays a protective warrior in "Goddess of Fire Jeonji."
5. Kim Soo Hyun appeared in "Dream High" and as the prettiest king ever in "The Moon Embracing The Sun." He made box office history with his film "Secretly Greatly" and is now preparing for his role as an alien in a new drama "Man From The Stars."
There's also considerable kpop/kdrama crossover for flower boys.
6. Infinite's L is playing the young So Ji Sub in "The Master's Sun." He's appeared in a few dramas, most notably as the only member of the "Shut Up Flower Boy Band" dedicated enough to make it as an idol singer.
7. Kim Hyun Joong was also one of F4, the flower boys in "Boys Over Flowers" and many kdrama viewers fell in love with his sensitive character. But his flower boy days may be over. The image he presents in his latest music videos is less metrosexual than tough guy with a buzz cut and temporary tattoos. His latest role as a backstreet fighter in the upcoming drama "Inspiring Generation" may also cause viewers to focus less on his gentle side.
