Tom Cruise has endured quite a number of criticisms over his dedication to the church of Scientology. But the worst PR disaster for the "Mission: Impossible" actor might just have come this year.
According to a report, Leah Remini's book about Scientology is a huge success.
"Leah Remini's tell all Scientology book was a MASSIVE hit!" Naughty Gossip wrote. "It debuted at # 1 on the NY Times bestseller list!"
Part of Leah Remini's revelations in the tell-all book was aimed at Tom Cruise and his family.
This includes Leah Remini's claim that Nicole Kidman was and is still allegedly estranged to her and Tom's adopted daughter Bella Cruise ever since the "Moulin Rouge" actress has become what Scientology calls Suppressive Person or SP.
"As far back as Bella's father Tom Cruise's 2006 wedding to Katie Holmes, Remini explained she was shocked by the then teen's attitude to her parent," Daily Mail reported.
"After the lavish Cruise-Holmes wedding, Remini shared a ride to the airport with Cruise, Bella and her brother Connor. She claims she asked the pair if they had seen their mother recently. 'Not if I have a choice,' Bella said."
Some speculate that Scientology could be taking a toll in Tom Cruise's relationships and family life.
It could be recalled that Scientology was also an issue that Katie Holmes allegedly put on the table when she filed for divorce from Tom Cruise.
"During a deposition in his court battle against a pair of magazines, Tom Cruise admitted that ex-wife Katie Holmes filed for divorce 'to protect Suri from Scientology,' according to court documents," ABC News reported in 2013.
There are also previous reports that Tom Cruise has purportedly been realizing how Scientology has been affecting his relationship with his daughter with Katie Holmes, Suri.
"Rumor has it that church leaders don't want Cruise seen publicly with his daughter because she's not being raised in the church," Celeb Dirty Laundry previously reported.
