Nicole Kidman and husband Keith Urban are suffering from a family crisis as the father of the "American Idol's" judge was already admitted to hospice care.
"He's probably only got a few weeks, if that," the country singer told The Tennessean.
"I've just been dealing with that the last couple of days," he added. "This has all come at a very strange time where it's typical of a career that has extreme highs and extreme lows all often at the exact same time."
Ever the consummate professional, Nicole Kidman's husband still managed to make an appearance on an Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum's exhibit titled, "Keith Urban So Far ..."
Keith Urban said that the exhibit is "bittersweet a little bit," adding that his dying father "is the catalyst for me living in America."
His father was instrumental in Keith Urban's love affair with country music. In fact, when he was still a young performer, his father sewn his outfits.
"My dad particularly always thought it was important that I dressed like a performer," Nicole Kidman's husband said. "A lot of these country music talent quests I did in Australia, they often had categories for best dressed male or best dressed female and I often won. Sometimes it was the only thing I won."
Aside from his dying father, Keith Urban also credited Nicole Kidman, who's now in London for West End's "Photograph 51," for helping him become the man that he is. The "American Idol" judge's struggles with addiction have been very well documented, but not the "Grace of Monaco" star's sacrifices to keep the marriage intact.
"I'm blessed that my mom and dad stayed together their whole life and are still together at 50 years. So I've seen that you can stay together and find a great love. I didn't know (anything) about it until I met my wife," he said.
