The Apple watchOS 2.1 can be found through the dedicated Apple Watch app on the iPhone from General, Software Update, Download and Install. MacRumors gave a reminder that to do the system update, the Apple Watch should have 50 percent battery, must be on its charger, and must be close to the iPhone.

Apple Support has a complete list of the security content of watchOS 2.1 which includes enhanced hardeding of the Sandbox app to address the issue in handling hard links in the sandbox to prvent malicious application that might maintain access to Contacts even after revoked access; improved initialization of memory as well as more validation of zlib streams to address the uninitialized memory access that existed in zlib and enhanced validation of input to solve the issue in font file processing that corrupted memory.
