Google's take on the laptop and tablet was introduced in September, the Pixel C, the first tablet designed for Android Marshmallow, now comes as one of the electronics choices out there for this holiday shopping season. Pixel C is now available on the Google Store.
A laptop can be a good tool to work on a lengthy document, but during times when one needs to relax while watching a favorite film, a lightweight tablet is more ideal. The Google Pixel C is a laptop and a tablet in one, having the benefits of both worlds.
With its 10.2-inch high resolution display, the Pixel C delivers bright, colorful and crisp images and videos. Its stereo speakers and graphics horsepower keep the device with the user either when he is simply browsing the net or playing games.
With a lot of things doable with Google Pixel C, there are plenty to choose from, including a million apps on the Google Store where the laptop-tablet is selling at $499 for the 32GB model, plus $150 for the Bluetooth keyboard, which makes the device unique.
The full-size keyboard is designed to pair with the tablet by seamlessly attaching via magnets and wirelessly connects through Bluetooth. When near the tablet, the keyboard automatically charges, so there is nothing to worry about it running out of power.
With Android 6.0, Pixel C comes with security benefits, said Google on its official blog, with a smarter device that can last more than 10 hours, as well as Now on Tap. As a Google device itself, it will get regular updates in the future that would bring new features and security directly from the Mountain View - based tech titan. Pixel C is the first tablet Google has made itself without hardware partners like HTC or Samsung.
As Google Pixel C hit the stores on Tuesday, it becomes the subject of reviews by pundits. Android Authority said Pixel C is really not meant for Android, but for Chrome. Gizmodo backed it up saying the device is good but Android is not ready for it.
