The craziness surrounding "Fifty Shades of Grey" was too much for Dakota Johnson's ex-boyfriend Matthew Hitt, which was why they allegedly broke up.

"Her life was getting too crazy and it wasn't something that he wanted to be a part of," the source told Us Weekly.

After the hype surrounding "Fifty Shades of Grey" died when the film was released on Valentine's Day, the two reportedly got back together as the source told the magazine, "She's giving it another shot."

The magazine claimed that the two never really stopped communicating with each other although their relationship was put on hold because of Dakota Johnson's commitments with "Fifty Shades of Grey." The alleged insider continued, "She really does like him."

But Dakota Johnson reportedly split with boyfriend Matthew Hitt once again.

Back in August, Radar Online claimed that romance was brewing between Dakota Johnson and Jake Gyllenhaal after they were spotted on a date night.

The article also claimed that the former couple tried to evade photographers by make sure that they leave the bar separately.

"Jake and Dakota were accompanied at their table by different people throughout the night - including the owner of the bar [that's] so inaccessible to the public that it doesn't even have a name," the source allegedly claimed. "They left the venue through separate exits, Johnson out the front and Gyllenhaal via a back door."

During a guesting stint at The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the talk show host asked Dakota Johnson if she is in a relationship.

Dakota Johnson replied, "no" before giving an awkward laughter.

Could the fact that Dakota Johnson agreeing to reprise her role as Anastasia Steele in the "Fifty Shades of Grey" sequel had something to do with her split to boyfriend Matthew Hitt? The actress has not issued a statement on the reasons for the breakup so any information would be speculation at this point.
