Who's hot and who's not? The Best Film Awards 2016 recently voted a total of 11 actors as being the Rising Stars of 2016.
The list included actors Do Kyung Soo, Ryu Jun Yeol, Park Bo Gum, Park So Dam, AOA's Seolhyun, Lee Sung Kyung, Im Si Wan, Chae Soo Bin and Choi Woo Sik.
This was the first year that the Rising Star category was added to the Best Film Awards. The awards were based on votes from both fans and film reporters, with audience input contributing 60 percent of the vote. Altogether more than two million votes were tallied.
What have these stars done to shine so brightly? Here's a recap of what they were up to recently.
Do Kyung Soo: In 2015 the EXO member known as D.O. appeared in two films. He plays a man in love with Kim So Hyun in "Pure Love" and Jo Jung Suk's younger brother in "Thinking of My Older Brother." He tried an evil role, playing a psychopath in the drama "Hello Monster." His next project is leading the cast of voice actors in the animated film "Underdog."
Ryu Jun Yeol: Although Ryu appeared in the films "Socialphobia" and "Glory Day," his breakout hit was playing Kim Jung Hwan in "Reply 1988." Up next is a villain role in the film "No Tomorrow."
Park Bo Gum: Park also attracted attention with his role in "Reply 1988." He's starred in a couple of box office hits before that role, appearing in the films "The Admiral: Roaring Currents" and "Coin Locker Girl." He's had drama roles in "Wonderful Days," "Cantabile Tomorrow" and also in "Hello Monster."
Seolhyun: AOA's Seolhyun played a vampire in the drama "Orange Marmalade" and Lee Min Ho's kid sister in the film "Gangnam Blues." Her next role is in the film "Murderer's Guide To Memorization."
Lee Sung Kyung: Lee currently plays Seo Kang Joon's spoiled sister Baek In Ha in the drama "Cheese in the Trap." It's only her third drama as she previously appeared in "Queen's Flower" and played Lee Kwang Soo's girl in "It's Okay That's Love." Next, she will star in the 2016 film "Broker."
Im Si Wan: The Z:EA member has been on a roll lately, winning praise for his performance in the dramas "Triangle," "Misaeng" and in the film "The Attorney." His 2016 plans include a role in the film "A Melody To Remember."
Chae Soo Bin: Chae appeared in three dramas in 2015. She appeared in "Cheer Up," "House of Bluebird" and played Kim Jae Joong's younger sister in "Spy." She won two awards for her "Cheer Up" role and this year can be seen in the film "Robot Sori."
Choi Woo Sik: Choi appeared in two drama hits "Fated To Love You" and "Pride and Prejudice" before starring as the shy webtoon artist in "Hogu's Love." He also appeared in the film "Busan Bound."
