Ji Sung had something to say about the upcoming wedding of his two-time co-star Hwang Jung Eum. The ceremony is scheduled for February 26 at the Shilla Hotel.
The actors worked together in the melodrama "Secret Love," when he played a cruel chaebol plotting revenge on her innocent character. They acted together again the next year when she played his psychiatrist and he played a man with dissociative identity disorder in "Kill Me Heal Me."
The actors became friends while working together and had obvious onscreen chemistry. He has in the past described her as "a precious person" and someone he enjoys working with.
When he appeared on a Section TV interview on February 21, he spoke about their excellent working relationship.
"We only have to look each other in the eye and we can tell what the other person is thinking," he said.
When asked if he had anything to tell his former co-star on the subject of marriage, he said he had a lot to say, but then he often jokes publicly about his own marriage to actress Lee Bo Young. Ji Sung and Lee Bo Young he met on the set of the 2004 drama "Save The Last Dance For Me." The couple confirmed their relationship in 2007 and married in 2013. Their first child was born in June of 2015.
In contrast Hwang's relationship with her husband-to-be did not proceed that slowly. The couple only announced they had dated for a few months in January and shortly thereafter announced their wedding plans. Hwang's future husband is a pro-golfer turned businessman Lee Young Don. Lee is the son of the CEO of Geoham Steel.
Ji Sung hinted at the possibility that the Hwang and her husband might soon start a family.
"She and her husband-to-be are perfect for each other," said Ji. "I am waiting for the good news. You know what I mean by good news, right?"
Is Ji Sung so good at reading Hwang Jung Eum that he knows something others can only guess at? He did not offer any details.
Meanwhile, Hwang Jung Eum has said that she would like to work with Ji Sung again.
"I would really love to," she said in a 2015 interview with the Korean media outlet Daily Sports. "But maybe it will take four years. Since Ji Sung oppa is married, I would like to work with him again after I am also married. The two dramas I've done with oppa have done well. I think it's a really good thing we have going."
Ji Sung did not say whether he and wife Lee Bo Young will attend the wedding.
