Actor Jang Ki Yong is Broadening His Path to Success

During the interview with the actor, he shared his inner thoughts during his career as an artist.

The uniqueness of the previous drama "Search: WWW" as Park Morgan and "Bad Guys: The Movie" is a completely different character. Isn't it difficult to act?

JKY: "Bad Guys: The Movie" was filmed before "Search: WWW". When I meet a character, which is cast to me on work, I try to wear it, rather than showing numerous appearances, it shows different works and different pieces. When acting, I think I should do this, but don't act. If you concentrate on your work, you can see it, and if you do everything that you can, it's something that the public could see."

It feels like you're still coming and going between a warm and intense character.

JKY: "Yes, it is. Thankfully, after the "Confessional Couple" was offered to me, I wanted to try it out, and it seemed to be good. It was a challenge for every role. It was my first lead and I had such a personal connection with the role. "My Mister" should have a rough image before, but there was no chance I could do it again. It was director Kim Won-suk's work; I was too greedy and thoroughly prepared for the audition and personally, I am proud to have worked with him. It is meaningful because it is a role that impressed the public. Thankfully, I am receiving a love call behind "My Mister". And I am doing my best with gratitude.

Luckily, I got a supporting role. The first time I played a big role in the "Confessional Couple" I did not panic because I had an experience as a supporting assistant. There seems to be a thankful opportunity at the right time".

Are there hobbies you want to try out in the future after acting?

JKY: "Nothing special, just learning to sing. I like music and I'm interested in musicals, so I want to learn singing when I'm relaxing. I climbed the stage a few times and the energy is amazing. It was so fun to listen that many people support me performing. Starting in the mid-30s, the company is investing time to give greetings on the musical stage".

What kind of actor would you like to be in the future?

JKY: "I want to leave an impression in every work I do, "This should be Jang Ki Yong!" I haven't heard people say that yet, and I hope that I'll receive an extreme amount of love from the audience".
