Kim Woo-bin also known as Kim Hyun-joong was born on July 16, 1989. He is a South Korean model and actor. He first began his career as a runway model and late or started an acting career with his first television drama entitled "White Christmas."

After a while he gained attention in "A Gentleman's Dignity" in 2012 and made his breakthrough with "School 2013 "(2012-2013) and The Heirs (2013).

Kim Woo Bin then starred in the box office hits Friend: The Great Legacy (2013), The Con Artists (2014) and Twenty (2015). In the year 2016, he played his first leading role on television titled "Uncontrollably Fond".

Ever since in high school, Kim Woo Bin wanted to pursue a modeling career. In the year 2009 at the age of 20 he showed his talent in modeling and debuted as a runway model. When his modeling career progressed, he began appearing in prêt-à-porter and Seoul Fashion Week collections. Then, he began doing some commercials and started acting. Under the guidance of coach Moon Won-joo he started studying acting. Soon enough, Kim Woo Bin fell in love with acting, saying, "In the course of doing so, I found myself feeling the same thrill and enthusiasm that I felt the first time I came to walk on the runway".

In the year 2011, the young actor made his acting debut with his stage name Kim Woo Bin. He starred in the mystery drama White Christmas and the low-rated cable sitcom Vampire Idol.

His breakthrough came in the year 2013 with two hit dramas and one film. He starred in the teen drama entitled School 2013, this is when he received his first award at the 2nd APAN Star Awards, under the category "Best New Actor."

In the same year, he was casted in Kim Eun-sook's teen drama The Heirs with co-actor Lee Min Ho. This drama made Kim Woo Bin popular not only in South Korea but also internationally having a peak audience rating of 28.6% and 1 million hits on the Chinese streaming website iQiyi. His fame overseas helped him gain increased avdertising contracts and more acting offers.

After his rise of fame in 2013, Kim Woo Bin just keeps on appearing in big screen projects. In January 2014, he was part of the cast in the heist movie "The Con Artists," wherein he played a top safe-cracker with his rising co-star Lee Hyun-woo. He then tried to play a comedic character in an indie movie directed by Lee Byung-heon "Sophomore Effort Twenty" in 2015.

Next, he appeared in an ad campaign for Calvin KleinWatches + Jewelry, making him the first Eastern Asian model for the international brand.

Kim Woo Bin was also casted in the crime caper film titled "Wiretap" by Choi Dong-hoon, but due to health reasons the project has since been suspended to allow Kim Woo Bin to seek treatment from his illness. The actor was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer in 2017 and has took a break until late this year.

Kim Woo Bin had made his first appearance at a fan meeting last December 8. He also proclaimed his television comeback as a narrator of MBC's upcoming documentary entitled "Humanimal".

On the 27th of December, Kim Woo Bin came back to modeling with a pictorial which was released by his agency, SidusHQ. His photos featured his staggeringly long hair in monochrome head and bust shots. The photo was a hype eversince it was released.
