The genius behind the “Great Giraffe Challenge “ has finally been identified and he reveals the mystery behind the Facebook challenge, even promising to make similar games.
The creator
The giraffe riddle was created by Tim Hodge who posted the image of a giraffe and the riddle on his Facebook account.
The riddle goes like this:
“3:00 am, the doorbell rings and you wake up. Unexpected visitors. It’s your parents and they are there for breakfast. You have strawberry jam, honey, wine, bread and cheese. What is the first thing you open?”
The blogger
Hodge’s riddle would not have gone viral if it were not for his Facebook friend, Andrew Strugnell, who answered the riddle and answered “door.” He was challenged when his friend, Hodge informed him that “door” is not the logical answer.
Hodge, a video blogger from New Zealand then thought it would be fun to set up the riddle on a YouTube video.
Facebook message
Along with the riddle video is an instruction to users to Facebook message him with an answer. It has gone viral and now it has been viewed more than 625,000 since it was uploaded on YouTube.
"It is taking the web by storm - it is insane. Thank you for taking part and sharing it with your friends,” Strugnell was quoted as saying by Mirror UK.
Facebook page
A community page on Facebook has been created for the “Great Giraffe Challenge” and it has generated more than 100,000 likes.
It should be noted that the challenge has also recorded 500,000 searches for “giraffe” on Sunday was added to the picture. Facebook users willingly changed their profile photos to giraffe whenever they failed to get the answers wrong.
Trivia: According to Epoch Times, the original post of the Giraffe Riddle has only 42 likes and 31 shares.
