The new film "Wonderland," which was released nine years after "Tang Wei's husband" director Kim Taeyong's "Late Autumn," will be launched in April with a super-luxury cast lineup where Park Bogum and Suzy is joined by Gong Yoo and Oscar-winning actor from the film "Parasite," Choi Woosik.
For the past week, news broke that Gong Yoo was offered a role in "Wonderland" and is in the final line up for the film. The agency took a cautious stance, saying that Gong Yoo was offered to appear and is currently reviewing it, but the real golden line-up was completed as his joining was virtually decided.
"Wonderland" is in the process of reviewing casting discussions with Suzy, Gong Yoo, Park Bogum, Choi Woosik and Jung Yu-mi, led by Chinese actor Tang Wei. We plan to wrap up the casting contract soon and crank in early April," he said. "Wonderland" is the first new film by director Kim Taeyong in nine years since "Late Autumn" in 2011, and will be joined by Oh Jungwan, and Acemaker will be responsible for investment and distribution.
"Wonderland" tells the story of a woman who was commissioned and became a botanical lover to a virtual world wonderland, and will be eyeing on a man who has died, and those surrounding them. Suzy, who was most recently offered to appear in "Wonderland," plays the female lead who misses her lover who has become a vegetable. And Park Bogum joins her as the boyfriend she misses. Gong Yoo will also play a man who misses his wife who died first in "Wonderland," and Tang Wei is the deceased wife in charge. In addition, Jung Yumi and Choi Woosik will lead the overall mood of the movie through changes in clients and Artificial Intelligence.
"Wonderland," which will feature a touching romance about Artificial Intelligence, is expected to be a blockbuster that will cost more than 10 billion won in net production alone. In particular, "Wonderland" is the first new film in nine years by director Kim Tae-yong that emerged as a price for emotional melodrama through "Late Autumn," and its super-luxury cast featuring top Chinese stars Tang Wei and Cheongmu-ro's leading actors Suzy, Gong Yoo, Park Bogum, Choi Woosik and Jung Yumi.
Although it was called "Wonderland," and had been preparing for production, this month, its first filming was postponed until early April due to the sudden spread of a new coronavirus infection (COVID-19). Although the situation has been volatile due to the pandemic, the production team will start filming in April at the latest and is aiming to release the film next year after continuing to shoot for three to four months.
Attention is drawn to what new emotions "Wonderland" will bring to the audience, where a meeting of the top-notch directors, production staff and super-luxury actors took place. "Wonderland" aims to film in the first half of this year.
