SBS

Oh no! The "Unbreakable Sword" will be gone for almost two years? That is a really long time!

Yes, you read it right. Our beloved Woo Do Hwan will enlist in the military on July 6, and here is his heart-warming handwritten letter to his fans on Instagram.

"Hello. This is Woo Do Hwan.

You may be surprised by the sudden news, but I am writing this letter because I wanted to personally announce this to my fans first.

I am enlisting as an active-duty soldier on July 6. I feel apologetic for not being able to meet you directly and say goodbye.

I was happy while doing every project I was in thanks to the overflowing love everyone gave me.

Thank you for watching over my 20s and for loving me. Thanks to that, I was able to spend my 20s very happily.

I hope that you will be healthy and happy during these difficult times. I will return in good health and work to impress once again.

I love you so much and feel so thankful that I cannot express it fully in words.

June 24, 2020.

From, Woo Do Hwan."

Many have fallen in love with Woo Do Hwan for his remarkable acting in the fantasy-drama The King: Eternal Monarch. Viewers adored the chemistry he had with the main lead Lee Min Ho, and his two entirely different personalities really proved his prowess and versatility. He is, indeed, a true scene-stealing actor!

Because the public absolutely admired him for his recent performance, the actor was offered to lead in a drama "Hero" - he was offered to play a former top prosecutor who enraged a chaebol who he assaulted and got his license suspended for ten years.

But we hate to break the news: his supposed-to-be series will not take place. We will have to wait for two long years to see him back onscreen.

His agency, KeyEast Entertainment, also released a statement that Woo Do Hwan will enlist in the military on July 6. The place and the time will not be announced to the public for safety reasons. His agency honored the actor's request not to do any send-off events or press conferences. KeyEast also asked the fans to support the actor to fulfill his national defense obligations with no issues.

Sometime in the last week of May, Woo Do Hwan was spotted taking a military medical examination. And during that time, his agency did not release any further announcements nor confirm the action done by the star.

The actor will turn 28 six days after his military enlistment, and men in Korea should enlist by the time they turn 28.

It seems to it that the actor could not delay his enlistment. If he does otherwise, he will be penalized and reprimanded.

Luckily for his fans, though! New or old fan, Woo Do Hwan left us a bunch of dramas (let's call them as his gifts to us!) for us to watch while he does his duty as a Korean citizen.

Here is the list:

*Come, Come, Absolutely Come

*Shut Up Flower Boy Band

*Sweet Stranger and Me

*Save Me

*Mad Dog

*Tempted

*My Country: The New Age

*The King: Eternal Monarch

We're all saddened by this report, but a true fan is the one who waits!

Woo Do Hwan, hwaiting!
