After completing the lineup of the cast, the upcoming K-drama "Melancholia" adds Lee Kang Ji as one of its actors and will be joining lead stars Im Soo Jung and Lee Do Hyun.
tvN recently announced the complete list of cast members that boasted a slew of talented actors that would be front lining the new drama.
On July 14, a representative from the drama unveiled the cast, starting off with "Jin Kyung, Choi Dae Hoon, Jang Hyun Sung, Byun Jung Soo, Kim Ho Jin, Baek Ji Won, and Woo DaBi."
At the time, the "Youth of May" star and the 42-year-old actress had confirmed their appearance for the series.
Lee Kang Ji Set to Play Lee Do Hyun's On-Screen Friend
Interestingly, Lee Kang Ji will be added to the lineup and is set to play Lee Do Hyun's on-screen best friend.
According to a local outlet, his character, Lee Hyunjae, is described as someone who embodies a very optimistic and positive attitude.
Since he is passionate about arts like music and dance, he became close friends with Baek Seung Yoo, played by Lee Do Hyun, who enjoys photography.

Helmed by "Extraordinary You" and "True beauty" director Kim Sang Hyub and penned by "Doctor John" screenwriter Kim Ji Woon, the "Melancholia" release date is slated on October 20 and will air every Wednesday and Thursday.
The upcoming tvN series depicts the life of a math wizard, Baek Seung Yoo.
At an early stage, he was able to compete in several math tournaments and managed to become an olympiad.
With this, he entered the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology at age 10, but due to unforeseeable circumstances, he dropped out at age 12.
Meanwhile, Im Soo Jung will take on the role of a math teacher named Ji Soon Joo.
Aside from the intriguing role of Lee Do Hyun and the "Search: WWW" star, "Melancholia" exposes the scandal that involves a sexual relationship between teachers and students as well as the corruption in a prestigious private high school in Gangnam.

Rookie actor Lee Kang Ji debuted in a short film titled "Twins" back in 2017.
This was followed by short films including "Wandering Blades," "Dogs Eat Dogs," "House of Blessing," and "December 21."
Fortunately, he landed as one of the casts of the hit crime drama "Law School," which stars Kim Bum, Ryu Hye Young, and renowned actor Kim Myung Min.
Interestingly, the JTBC series is his first-ever drama where he played the role of Hankuk University law student Min Bok Gi, who harbors a secret crush with fellow freshman Jeon Ye Seul, played by Go Yoon Jung.
It appears that the "Law School" cast definitely had extraordinary teamwork on the set as the actors often post candid behind-the-scenes.
