Song Joong Ki has worn many hats since his debut in 2008. The award-winning actor has led multiple big projects, such as "Innocent Man," "Descendants of the Sun," "The Battleship Island," "Vincenzo," "Space Sweepers," and "Reborn Rich."
But among these, the actor has almost missed the chance to play one of his impressive characters.
The veteran star once described that 2012 was a phenomenal year for his career because of the tremendous projects he successfully did at that time. One of these works was "A Werewolf Boy," where he played the role of Chul Soo.
Known as a feral boy, Chul Soo had to act like a wild beast until he met Sun Yi (Park Bo Young), who taught him how to have emotions and affection, and later on, fell in love with her.
During the talk at the Actors House as part of the 28th Busan International Film Festival, Song Joong Ki shared various stories from his 15-year career in the industry.

One of the things he shared was his experience filming "A Werewolf Boy," and revealed for the first time that he initially declined the offer for the lead role. He explained that the reason for rejecting the role was it did not have much dialogue.
"It was when I began doing lead roles in dramas. It was a time when I had the desire to do well, and had the arrogant thought, 'I don't even have a line of dialogue."
Until two months after the initial offer, Song Joong Ki's decision changed.
"I received the script again two months later. I read it and got goosebumps. I thought, 'Why did I decline this work?"
The "Vincenzo" star admitted that at first, the role would be easy because there were no lines. However, soon he realized the difficulties of it, which challenged him to do better.
While reminiscing about his movie "A Werewolf Boy," Song Joong Ki wondered what would have happened if he didn't appear in the movie.
Furthermore, despite not having a lot of lines, the K-drama star proved his outstanding acting skills through his expressions and movements in the film. Thanks for accepting the project, it is now one of his iconic roles that he became known for.
Meanwhile, Song Joong Ki will meet the viewers soon as his highly-anticipated film "Hopeless" is scheduled for release this October.
