Without any context, Han So Hee's usage of emoji alarmed many that she might be throwing shade at the Italian actress. Soon, fans discussed in the comments section whether the Korean star was shading the Italian actress or was referring to the movie plot.

Netizens claimed that Han So Hee's account might've been hacked for posting such a thing, and accused the actress of shading Monica Bellucci.

Fans Defend Han So Hee, Clarify What the Actress Implies in Her Caption

"Malena" was released in 2000 and as a short explanation from the story, it shows how men sexualize and objectify women, seeing them like a property and the only control they own is due to Malena already being married. However, Malena is also treated horribly by other women in her neighborhood due to their jealousy because of her beauty. She is subjected to a horrible life and gets thrown out of the village.

As she gets older and returns to the village, people begin to be kinder to her as women no longer see her as a competition, and men no longer see her as the woman of their dreams.

Meanwhile, after some netizens alleged Han So Hee of throwing shade at the Italian star, people immediately clarified what the Korean actress meant.
