Amid the active campaign of authorities regarding drug-related cases, Yoo Ah In's controversy once again made headlines after an exclusive report by Munhwa Ilbo revealed details regarding the actor's indictment.
It was weeks after the "Chicago Typewriter" star was indicted without detention for habitual drug use in October 2023, after the police filed a warrant of arrest against him.
Interestingly, the report contains details regarding the actor's use of illegal substances, including marijuana and propofol, as well as his communication with accomplices.
Yoo Ah In's Indictment Revealed the Actor's Usage of Illegal Drugs
In a report cited by a media outlet, Yoo Ah In smoked marijuana with acquaintances at a lodging in Los Angeles, California, USA, in January.
The indictment noted that the award-winning star administered a total of 9.6 liters of medical-grade propofol at 14 different hospitals since September 2020. This means that he has been using the drug for almost a span of two years.
In addition, the report also cited that Yoo Ah In used 10.7 milliliters of ketamine, 567 milligrams of midazolam, and 200 milligrams of remimazolam.
On top of it, the actor also faces accusations of illegally acquiring 1,150 sleeping pills. He used this with different names in 44 separate transactions.
Yoo Ah In Warns Accomplices Regarding the Violation
Following the investigation of Yoo Ah In, the authorities accused the actor of hiding evidence of his drug use as well as forcing others to smoke marijuana.
As cited by the outlet, this led them to request an arrest warrant from the court, but the court dismissed this, saying that the claims were "insufficient."
However, in the indictment report, the actor is suspected of warning his accomplices not to spill details regarding his drug use. It was reported that he allegedly sent messages saying "don't trust the police" in hopes of reducing the penalties for his charges.
A YouTuber called "A" also revealed that he was told by Yoo Ah In to try marijuana after seeing the actor use it. At the time, "A" tried to film a YouTube video at the outdoor swimming pool in the hotel when he saw Yoo Ah In along with Mr. B and Mr. C smoking marijuana.
As "A," the actor reportedly persuaded him and instructed him to "inhale deeply." This prompts the prosecution to charge the "Seoul Vibe" star for instigating marijuana smoking.
Currently, Yoo Ah In is under investigation for drug charges against him. Due to this, he is banned from leaving South Korea until the probe has been concluded.
Yoo Ah In's drug charges include a violation of the Narcotics Act after he was proven to have taken more than eight types of drugs habitually. This includes marijuana and propofol, from September 2020 to March 2022.
