Yoo Ah In faced an unexpected encounter with a female citizen after the court dismissed the second request for an arrest warrant.
As the investigation continues following the actor's drug charges, the "Seoul Vibe" star attended the hearing on September 21 at the Seoul Central District.
Court Dismisses Prosecutor's 2nd Request for Arrest Warrant
In a report, Court Judge Yoon Jae Nam dismissed the request to issue arrest warrants against Yoo Ah In along with his associates, Choi and Park. The request was filed by the Central District Prosecutors' Office of the Special Crime Investigation Division, accusing the actor of violating the Narcotics Control Act and tampering with evidence that supports the claim in the case.
As obtained by a media outlet, the court judge failed to grant the prosecutor's request because they considered the suspect to have a clear "history of similar offenses and stable residential status." Due to this, they ruled that Yoo Ah In and his associates are "currently deemed unnecessary and unapt to pursue an arrest."
Moreover, the court also mentioned that the actor "has admitted to a significant portion of the charges" and acknowledged claims regarding his illegal use and purchase of substances like propofol, sleeping pills, and marijuana.
Yoo Ah In Hit With Bundle of Money
As the actor left the court, a female citizen hit him with a bundle of money and even told him to "use it for his bail."
In a report, the woman, whose identity is unknown, threw cash mixed with 10,000 won, 5,000 won, and 1,000 won bills at Yoo Ah In, who was escorted by the police as he got into his car.
It can be recalled that this is not the first time that the award-winning star has faced disrespect from the public. After leaving the detention center in May, an angry citizen threw a plastic bottle containing coffee at the "Chicago Typewriter" star, which surprised the actor and his escort.
Meanwhile, prior to the incident, Yoo Ah In gave a brief statement to the media. When asked about his thoughts regarding the court rulings regarding the second request for an arrest warrant, the celebrity apologized to the public and promised to coordinate with the police regarding the investigation.
"I am sorry once again for causing great concern. I will answer sincerely in court today and give you all the honest answers I can," he said.
It can be recalled that it has been under investigation since the probe started in March after the actor tested positive for seven types of drugs. Due to this, he is barred from leaving the country. The same goes for his accomplices who are involved in the drug case.
