Kim Nam Gil might reprise his iconic role in "The Fiery Priest" Season 2.

Back in December 2022, news portals reported that a representative from SBS hinted at the update on the show's possible sequel.

"The production of 'The Fiery Priest' Season 2 is currently under discussion, but nothing has been confirmed yet."

At the time, the cast lineup and possible story were yet to be announced.

Kim Nam Gil's Agency Responds to Reports About 'The Fiery Priest' Season 2 Casting

Almost a year after the news broke, Kim Nam Gil's agency responded to news that the actor would reprise his role.

Gilstory ENT shared that the top star has received the offer to appear in "The Fiery Priest" Season 2, but "nothing has been decided."

Back in 2019, "The Fiery Priest" was among the most watched weekend K-dramas, which kicked off with an impressive nationwide rating of 10.4 percent, marking the successful start of SBS' Friday-Saturday series.

The series wrapped up the season with a 22 percent nationwide rating.

The top star will work alongside Kim Young Kwang for the action-thriller K-drama "Trigger."

Directed and penned by Kwon Oh Seung of the 2021 movie "Midnight," Kim Nam Gil transforms into a righteous detective named Lee Do, who used to serve in the military as a sniper.

Slated to premiere sometime in 2025, this will be his next project after Netflix's "Song of the Bandits."

Other than this, Kim Nam Gil is also in talks to headline another action-mystery series, "Execution," which will be helmed by award-winning director Choi Young Hwan of "Escape from Mogadishu" and the 2015 film "Veteran."

As for his big-screen projects, he has been selected to star in three upcoming movies but has yet to confirm his appearance.
