'Friendly Competition' Might Be Hyeri's First GL Series
2024 might be a busy year for Girls' Day Hyeri. On February 6, based on Newsen, the actress received an offer to star in TVING's new K-Drama "Friendly Competition."
Originating from the webtoon of the same name, it follows the story of Woo Seul Gi, a top student at her previous school who transfers to the prestigious Chaehwa Girls' High School. There, she meets Yoo Jei, a high-ranking student like her.
"Friendly Competition" is a combination of mystery and psychological thriller along with aspects of Girls Love.
Hyeri is reported to portray the role of Yoo Jei, a top student at Chaehwa who has both a high IQ and skills. Although her character is different from Woo Seul Gi, the series will show the gradual process of the two girls falling for each other.
After the news broke out, Lee Hyeri's agency Creative Group ING responded to the report saying that the actress is currently positively considering the role.
Furthermore, the Girls Love series has no broadcast date yet and the casting and production are still in discussion.
