The actor is booked and busy with upcoming projects, among which is the upcoming movie "Dark Nuns."
Will Lee Jin Wook Accept the Offer in 'Dark Nuns'?
In a report, Lee Jin Wook is offered to headline the thriller horror film "Dark Nuns."
As mentioned, his agency, BH Entertainment, confirmed that the 42-year-old star is being courted to join the movie.
"Lee Jin Wook is reviewing [the offer] to star in the film 'Dark Nuns' positively."
However, as of this writing, movie officials have yet to share Lee Jin Wook's possible role.
On the other hand, if he officially accepts the offer, he is set to star alongside Song Hye Kyo and Jeon Yeo Bin, who are also courted to headline the movie.
Following the announcement regarding the duo's possible team-up, their respective representatives shared that they are positively reviewing the casting offers.
Meanwhile, "Dark Nuns" is based on the 2015 film "The Priests," which stars Kim Yoon Seok and Kang Dong Won. At the time, the film raked in 5.44 million viewers.
As for the upcoming movie, it is a female version of "The Priests" that depicts the story of dark nuns who perform exorcism.
"Dark Nuns" will be helmed by Jang Jae Hyun, the screenwriter and director of "The Priests" and the upcoming movie "Exhuma," starring Kim Go Eun and Lee Do Hyun.
Lee Jin Wook Joins 'Squid Game' Season 2
While Lee Jin Wook has yet to confirm his appearance in the forthcoming thriller mystery film, the versatile star lands as one of the supporting actors joining "Squid Game" season 2.
After Netflix and director Hwang Dong Hyuk hinted at the cast members joining the sequel, the 42-year-old actor is among the star-studded cast who confirmed to join the series.
Lee Jin Wook is playing the supporting actor along with Im Siwan, Won Jin An, Kang Ha Neul, BIGBANG's T.O.P., and more.
In addition to this, original cast members Lee Byung Hun, Lee Jung Jae, Gong Yoo, and Wi Ha Joon will also reprise their roles.
Interestingly, Lee Jin Wook's appearance in "Squid Game 2" sparks excitement, and he was teased by his friends that he will become a global star once the sequel is out.
As of this writing, there is no confirmed release date yet, but rumor has sparked the idea that it will be in October 2024.
Other than "Squid Game" season 2, Lee Jin Wook will also reprise his role as Pyeon Sang Wook in "Sweet Home" season 3, which will also air on Netflix.
