And the fans have spoken. The results of our kdramastars poll are in, with some clear fan favorites far ahead of the rest.
The winner for the best drama is "Missing You," starring Park Yoochun, Yoon Eun Hye, Yoo Seung Ho and Jang Mi Ne. The melodrama about a tragedy that separates two lovers won with a resounding 55.13 percent of the vote. It was all the more impressive because for the first week of the poll, it looked like "The Heirs" would easily win. Then "Missing You" started to pull ahead and once it got to first place stayed there.
"The Heirs" earned 31.71 percent of the vote but that's still pretty impressive since only two of the year's other popular dramas managed to earn about a percentage point. "Queen of Ambition" rated at 4.44 percent in third place, while "The Master's Sun" rated 1.85 percent. Other popular dramas, such as "I Hear Your Voice," "Secrets," and "Empress Ki," earned less than a percentage point each.
The Best Actor category also went to the star of "Missing You," Park Yoochun. The JYJ singer and actor, who also starred in "Sungkyunkwan Scandal" and "Rooftop Prince," rated 56.52 percent of the vote. He won over Lee Min Ho, who earned 38.41 percent of the vote. For the first week, Lee Min Ho, star of "The Heirs" looked like the sure winner but if the poll results are any indication, he is not as popular among kdramastars fans as Park Yoochun. Lee Min Ho's "The Heirs" co-star Kim Woo Bin got a nod with 2.13 percent of the vote, which demonstrated his status as this year's breakout star. Other top stars such as So Ji Sub of "The Master's Sun," Lee Jong Suk of "I Hear Your Voice," Lee Jun Ki of "Two Weeks" and Jo In Sung of "That Winter the Wind Blows" got less than a percentage point.
One of "The Heirs" stars did win Best Actress category. Park Shin Hye, who also appeared in "Flower Boys Next Door," earned 53 percent of the vote. Yoon Eun Hye, who appeared in "Missing You," started the poll in third place but slowly rose to second place finally earning 24.85 percent of the votes. Moon Geun Young achieved third place with 9.77 percent of the vote. Runners-up were Suzy with 3.11 percent of the vote, Lee Bo Young with 2.51 percent of the vote and Song Hye Kyo with 2.49 percent of the vote.
