"Lovers in Paris" star Park Shin Yang updated fans with his life outside show business with his new career.
Back in January 2024, the actor was thriving as an artist after having his first solo exhibition held at the mM Art Center in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi.
Titled "The 4th Wall," guests could see his new-found love through art featuring various floors that showcased his artwork.
During his appearance in Channel A's "Best Friends Documentary Table for 4," Park Shin Yang wowed the hosts with his achievement as an artist.
'Lovers in Paris' Star Park Shin Yang Talks About His 130 Paintings
According to a report, he has produced about 130 paintings over the past 10 years, which were on display in his first solo exhibit.
Meanwhile, in a separate interview, Park Shin Yang dishes on the process of finding a new career amid his fame as an actor.
He said that he has been painting for a long time and hasn't sold any of his paintings before. His main focus back then was to pursue art education.
When asked if he wanted to sell any of it in the future, he said that he "had no intention of putting them up for sale" and revealed the reason behind it.
According to him, people see his artwork as something that is "too big" to hang on walls.
"I want to show my drawings to as many people as possible because the purpose of acting and drawing lies in evoking the feelings of people. I even thought about toting my drawings around in a container truck and traveling from this marketplace to that marketplace like a traveling theater troupe."
Park Shin Yang signed up for a master's course in Western painting at Andong National University back in 2021.
Prior to this, he continued his education in Russia after graduating from Dongguk University's acting department.
During his time at M.S. Schepkin Higher Theater School and Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute, he visited the artworks of Russian painter Nicholas Roerich and drew closer to learning art and painting.
Moreover, he also sees art as his escape after being mentally and physically exhausted at the time due to health issues.
In 2019, Park Shin Yang suffered from leg paralysis and underwent emergency surgery, prompting him to put his acting career on hold.
Other than the hit rom-com "Lovers in Paris," he is well known for his role in "Money's Warfare" and films such as "The Letter" and "The Big Swindle."
His last K-drama appearance was headlining "My Lawyer, Mr. Jo" season 2 in 2019 with Go Hyun Jung.
