"The Fiery Priest" Season 2 dropped an update regarding the cast members joining the sequel.

As the mystery-comedy returns for a new installment, fans will get to see the mix of OG cast and new characters.

Meet 'The Fiery Priest' Season 2 Cast

In a report, "The Fiery Priest" Season 2 cast confirmed the comeback of Kim Nam Gil, Honey Lee, and Kim Sung Kyun, who will reprise their roles.

To recall, the award-winning actor played the character of Kim Hae Il, the hot-blooded Catholic priest who may seem rude to some because of his dirty temper.

Season 2 will focus on Kim Hae Il's journey in Busan to pursue a special drug case.

"The Fiery Priest" Season 2 will be Kim Nam Gil's return to the small screen after the 2023 Netflix series "Song of the Bandits."

Meanwhile, the returning cast will not be complete without Honey Lee, who will continue to play the character of prosecutor Park Kyung Sun, and will once again showcase her great combat skills.

Lastly, completing the trio is Kim Sung Kyun as Goo Dae Young, who works as Gudam Police Station's violent crimes unit detective.

As for the new cast members, BIBI will also be joining the upcoming series. The singer-actress will be joining the Narcotics unit as detective Goo Ja Young.

Meanwhile, "The Fiery Priest" Season 2 will also welcome the new antagonist, Sung Joon.

In an exclusive report, his character will showcase a powerful villain role.

He is known for his remarkable characters in "Hyde, Jekyll, Me," "Call It Love," and "Island" Seasons 1 and 2.

'The Fiery Priest' Season 2 Release Date

Released in 2019, "The Fiery Priest" garnered an impressive rating, with the pilot episode garnering a double-digit rating of 10.4% nationwide and recording a peak viewership rating of 22%.

With its huge success, the mystery-comedy series gets renewed and will be among the much-awaited series returning this year.

Following the confirmation of cast members joining the sequel, "The Fiery Priest" Season 2 release date is scheduled to air in the second half of this year.

Viewers will get to see the journey of Kim Hae Il along with the detectives as the K-drama airs on SBS.

As of this writing, drama officials are yet to confirm if "The Fiery Priest" Season 2 will be available on streaming platforms, such as Netflix and Disney+.

Meanwhile, the upcoming K-drama is penned by Park Jae Bum (who also wrote "Vincenzo" and "The Fiery Priest" Season 1), along with director Park Bo Ram of "Through the Darkness."
