Zhou Xun Creates Buzz for Wearing Reading Glasses While Receiving Her Award

On July 3, Zhou Xun, a seasoned actress made headlines for her appearance at the prestigious award ceremony on June 28. 

In particular, she won the Best Actress Award for the legal drama "The Imperfect Victim," which was released in 2023 and received recognition from the viewers. It has been said that this was the second time to win the award, but the netizens were more concerned about the fact that Zhou Xun was seen wearing reading glasses. 

Zhou Xun went on stage to accept the trophy. She wore reading glasses to receive the award, which caused heated discussions. The actress said frankly that it was for the purpose of experiencing the role. 

The award-winning actress said, "The main responsibility of an actor is to create a role. In fact, you don't have to wear reading glasses, but you should wear them first." She continued, "For instance, if you portray a role with reading glasses if you have worn glasses before, you will know when to wear them and when not to wear them."

Who is Zhou Xun

Popularly known by her stage name Zhou Xun, Zhou Mi Ka is a Chinese actress and also a singer. She is recognized as one of the Four Dan Actresses of China. She studied at the Zhejiang Arts Institute to further her interest in dramatic arts, which is against the wishes of her parents. 

She was chosen to portray a role in the movie "Strange Tales Amongst Old and Desolate Tombs" during her rookie days. Soon after she acquired professional experience in acting, she gained international recognition for her roles in "Suzhou River" and "Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress," where she bagged the Best Actress Award for the former at the 15th Festival du Film de Paris. 

Some of her works are "A Little Mood for Love," "Medal of the Republic," "Imperfect Love," "Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace," "Red Sorghum," "Utopia Office," "The Weary Poet," "Across the Furious Sea," "Hidden Blade," "All Tomorrow's Parties," and more.

In addition, in 2014, the seasoned actress got married to American actor Archie Kao. However, in December 2020, Zhou Xun officially confirmed her divorce from him.
