Korean top stars Jung Woo Sung and Son Ye Jin headlined the romance drama "A Moment to Remember," released in 2004.
Based on the 2001 Japanese television drama "Pure Soul," the story depicts a heartbreaking yet magical story about two individuals with different social backgrounds.
Son Ye Jin plays 27-year-old fashion designer Soo Jin, who unexpectedly meets a mysterious man named Chul Soo, portrayed by Jung Woo Sung, at a convenience store.
Since then, the two have often seen each other in odd situations, but at the perfect time.
Later on, Soo Jin found out that Chul Soo works as a carpenter on the same project that her father is working on.
Just when they thought that it was a fairytale, Soo Jin started to display incidents of forgetfulness.
At one point, she couldn't go home because she forgot her address. This is where she thought of seeking medical help.
Unfortunately, she found out that she had early-onset Alzheimer's disease.
"A Moment to Remember" showcased the unconditional love of her husband, who chose to be with her no matter what.
Interestingly, not only did the drama garner a box office hit, but it also won the Best Screenplay Award at the 42nd Grand Bell Awards and Best Actress in a Foreign Film at the 15th China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival for Son Ye Jin's performance.
After 20 years since the movie was released, here's what keeps the "A Walk to Remember" cast, Son Ye Jin and Jung Woo Sung, busy.
Son Ye Jin
After getting married to Hyun Bin in 2022 and welcoming their first child in the same year, Son Ye Jin is slowly returning to her activities through public appearances, photo shoots, and special events like fashion week.
Interestingly, the top star is slated to have her big screen comeback through the star-studded movie "The Axe."
Directed by Park Chan Wook of "Decision to Leave," Son Ye Jin returns to the big screen after 7 years as she joins the cast of the upcoming thriller comedy film.
Based on the 2005 French-Spanish-Belgian movie of the same name, "The Axe" centers around a man who got laid off from work.
Desperate to land a job, he is prepared to kill fellow applicants who will be competing in the same position as him.
Son Ye Jin is joined by Lee Byung Hun, Lee Sung Min, Yoo Yeon Seok, and Yeom Hye Ran as the lead stars.
Interestingly, the target release of "The Axe" is in 2025.
