'I, the Executioner,' which opens in South Korean theaters on September 13 and September 27 in the US, follows the story of a Violent Crimes Investigation Unit solving crimes that put their personal lives at risk. Jung Hae In plays a rookie detective named Park Sun Woo. He captures the attention of the team's leader Seo Do Cheol, who is played by Hwang Jung Min. It's the sequel to the 2015 action film the 'Veteran' that introduced the audience to Seo Do Cheol and gives the backstory about his time as a police officer.
"I focused on portraying Sun Woo who is held captive by his beliefs and value system. Not only was the shooting physically tiring due to the action sequences, I also had some psychologically challenging moments because I had to understand why Sun-woo was that way and had done (what he did). But my solution was to act without having to find a clear answer," Jung Hae In said at the press conference, according to a report by 'The Korean Herald.'
