Jung Woo Sung's comments from 16 years ago about liking short-lived romances resurfaced amid claims about his fatherhood and cheating.

Jung, who recently expressed that he was the father of a child born to model Moon Gabi, said in a July 2008 interview with Nocut News that he prefers short-term over long-term relationships.

He said at the time: "I feel free since it's the end of a long relationship. I want to have short encounters rather than deep relationships, but it's not going as well as I thought. Do I sound like a playboy?"

Then, in November 2024, Jung's agency, Artist Company said that the child that Moon had posted about on social media is Jung's biological son.

The actor is reportedly committed to accepting parental responsibilities, but marriage "is off the table," the agency said.

The news had garnered a lot of heat on the internet. Those statements from Jung over 16 years ago are now being put under a microscope with respect to his current circumstances.

Aside from learning he is apparently a father, the actor has drawn some fire for personal interactions with non-celebrities.

The agency said it was hard to affirm personal affairs because it was basically a sphere linked to the actor's private life after the actor was reported to have contacted an ordinary citizen directly.

Jung is expected to still show at the upcoming Blue Dragon Film Awards, where he'll likely be bombarded with additional questions concerning the scandal.

The scandal has sparked off huge debate in Korea concerning effects on media amid a series of scandals against celebrity personalities branded the "bad boys of the glimmering side of showbiz."
