Following the ongoing rumor-mongering of actor Jung Woo-sung's alleged affair with model Moon Gabi, the recommendation of legal actions against malicious comments is amplifying.
A divorce lawyer is urging Moon to speak out against the negative talk about their son.
Answering a question in a recent YouTube video on the subject, attorney Yang So-young reportedly said there was "no need at all to feel bad about bringing a baby to the world."
She said:
"This is something to be celebrated-- the birth of a precious life. Moon Gabi made a courageous decision to have her child, and Jung Woo-sung should be praised for fulfilling his responsibilities."
Yang said he feared that rampant speculation suggesting that Moon had the child mainly for financial support could have lasting negative effects on her life.
"Unfortunately, there is a great deal of speculation and unfounded accusations," she noted, emphasizing the need for careful consideration and action.
"The very act of viewing (childbirth) as having impure intentions is a prejudice against single mothers that our society has," she added.
The lawyer encouraged Moon to take legal action against any posts and comments that cross a line, as these harmful narratives could resurface in the future, potentially impacting her son.
Yang cautioned that these posts will remain online for years, and her child may come across them someday.
As per a report by Dispatch, Moon told Jung about the pregnancy in June 2023 and welcomed their son in March 2024.
Jung's agency, Artist Company, confirmed the news and said, "We are in the process of determining the right parenting [method] and he will take full responsibility as a father."
The netizens had mixed reactions. Some criticized Jung for not marrying Moon, while others defended his commitment to co-parenting their child. Congratulatory messages flooded in from supporters who pointed out that he intended to fulfill his role as a father.
