Actress Seo Yoo Jung expressed sorrow and rage over the death of fellow actress Kim Sae Ron, who died on Feb. 16 at the age of 24.

Seo blasted the media and netizens for the "malicious gossip" they had been spreading about Kim in a heartfelt social media post on Feb. 18.

Seo said, as per MBC News, "May her soul rest in peace. Stop unnecessary articles, malicious comments, and edited videos that destroy the whole emotion and pull people until they become so thin and tired, please."

"And then, when news like this breaks people turn around and act as if they're not a part of the problem. Does it not hurt your conscience when you play with the media that way, to screw up the minds of innocent people and in return make money?"

Seo said the public's mood was disappointing and described it as being unfeeling and shortsighted, reminding everyone these are tragedies that could happen to anyone at any time.

Seo went on to declare, "Whenever there is an incident, public figures are immediately subject to witch hunts, malicious edits, and hateful comments for the sake of publicity...Please stop this now. And the ones who die like this have never dreamed that this could happen to them."

"It could be YOU next, it could be me, too. So stop the hate, stop the gossip, do not spread lies. Please, media, stop. The world is falling apart."

"While things may seem OK for one minute, and maybe even in a happy situation, they may have gone home to something else they may have had to deal with," Seo noted.

Seo's post encouraged people to notice what's going on around them and help those in need.

She said, "I imagine many people are still suffering from the pain right now, right? Give a little more love to those around us."

"Just try to be OK... it must have been hard to be a superstar on this planet, but in the sky, may you be a star that never falls."

Seo then ended the post with, "You have gone through a lot in life."
