The family of the late Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu has reversed course on her proposed burial, now suggesting the possibility of a statue memorial instead.

According to HeraldPop, Chinese media, including the China Times, reported that the natural burial was initially planned but was delayed after extensive conversations among family members.
DJ Koo, Hsu's husband, said he wanted an "independent space" where he could visit Hsu at any time "as he wanted."
DJ Koo said, "I want an independent space, where I can go visit Barbie Hsu and be there whenever I want." The statement continued: "We will reconsider the burial site after discussions with the family."
Barbie Hsu, star of the Taiwanese "Meteor Garden," died aged 36 on February 2 after contracting the flu and subsequently enduring pneumonia while away on a family trip to Japan. It was a shock to many when she died, especially her fans in Korea.
Wang Weichung, whose new project was announced in his office, reflected on his late friend at a press conference on February 25, saying, "In fact, all my emotions and everything I can say is already in my column. I can only go to her, extend my sympathies, and do this." Wang has devoted a weekly column to Hsu lately.
Wang said, "We can only view Hsu's sister Dee Hsu and DJ Koo from the sidelines and provide comfort," when asked to comment on the pair. "It's hard, but we need to learn to release. I have also been in those situations several times. Struggling is extremely important, but we need to move on."
Meanwhile, DJ Koo's activities have been suspended because of his wife's death. After the burial scheme failed, the family looked for an alternative that could better pay tribute to Barbie Hsu.
They had initially wanted to follow through with the burial last week but have now reconsidered their options.
