Following actress Kim Sae Ron death, her family and lawyer opened up about her complicated relationship with actor Kim Soo Hyun, suggesting betrayal amid her personal crisis.
As per YTN's report, at a press conference held on March 17, attorney Bu Ji Seok, representing Kim Sae Ron's family, revealed that the actress was in disbelief after receiving a certified letter demanding repayment from Kim Soo Hyun.
Bu said Kim Sae Ron sent a message to Kim Soo Hyun asking if the contents were true, as she believed someone else might have sent the letter to her.
"When the first certification of contents arrived, Kim Sae Ron thought, 'There's no way Kim Soo Hyun would have sent something like this. Someone else must have sent it,'" Bu stated.
However, she reportedly did not receive a response from the actor. Instead, a second certified letter arrived instructing her not to contact him or other actors and not to post any photos.
After receiving the second letter, Kim Sae Ron, unusually, chose not to discuss the matter with her family.
Bu suggested that she might have been trying to protect Kim Soo Hyun's image, saying she believed, "He's not that kind of person."
The attorney expressed concern for the emotional burden Kim Sae Ron faced alone.
"She bore the burden alone, suffering in silence, and in the end, on Kim Soo Hyun's birthday, she might have made a tragic choice," Bu added.
They additionally revealed that they only learned of the second letter recently and wondered what sort of relationship Kim Sae Ron had with the actor.
Kim Soo Hyun's agency confirmed that the two dated but emphasized it was after she turned eighteen.
The circumstances surrounding Kim Sae Ron's passing and her relationship with Kim Soo Hyun have sparked outrage among fans and led to discussions about mental health and support in the entertainment industry.
As the investigation continues, Attorney Bu urged critics to consider the young actress's emotional toll. "Before judging her actions, think about the burden she faced alone," he concluded.
