Kim Soo Hyun's agency, Gold Medalist, has come under fire after questioning the identity of a whistleblower who implicated the actor in a controversial relationship with Kim Sae Ron, who was just 15 at the time.

As per Koreaboo, Kim Soo Hyun's agency, Gold Medalist, has come under fire after questioning the identity of a whistleblower who implicated the actor in a controversial relationship with Kim Sae Ron, who was just 15 at the time.
In a 12-page statement released on March 18, Gold Medalist raised doubts about the credibility of the woman identified as Kim Sae Ron's aunt, who spoke out during a press conference held by the bereaved family a day earlier. He appeared as an informant on the Garosero Research Institute's YouTube channel.
Gold Medalist disputed the familial connection, claiming the woman is not the actress's biological aunt and suggesting that her allegations are not reliable.
"The deceased's mother does not have a married sister," the family of the deceased said during a press conference, They described the woman as "like a mother to Sae Ron, even more than her mom" without specifying if she is family or a close family friend.
In addition, the agency stated that "many industry insiders" have identified the whistleblower as the mother of another actor, making matters murkier

Despite these assertions, public sentiment appears to be shifting against Gold Medalist. Many netizens criticized the agency for focusing on the informant's identity rather than addressing the more serious allegations at hand.
Comments on a Korean online community forum theqoo included, "the identity of the informant should not be important," and "Where's your family tree? worry about your family tree boo," calling out what they see as Gold Medalist's hypocritical strategy of defense.
On top of this, other users pointed out how Kim Soo Hyun at different points called his stepbrother his cousin, and asked why the agency was investigating this aspect of their relationship to the whistleblower of Kim Sae Ron.
