Recently, notorious reporter Lee Jin Ho released shocking voice recording clips where it was revealed that late actress Kim Sae Ron was allegedly blackmailed to get married and even had an abortion.

Releases from the recordings on March 19, 2025, show Kim Sae Ron and a former agency staff member discussing her relationship with a mystery man, who would later be revealed to be her husband.

In January 2025, Kim posted a gallery of snaps with the guy bellowing "Marry" but erased the images quickly when post-placement did not go as expected.

At first, her reps maintained that the pictures were nothing more than a wedding shoot with a good friend.

In the aforementioned leaked recordings, Kim said that her boyfriend posted the controversial images after getting into a dispute.

"I didn't upload them. Well, my boyfriend did. "

When asked whether they were legally married in U.S. terms, Kim replied that they had tied the knot overseas: "Yeah, we already did that."

Things heated up more when Kim said she had been coerced into this marriage.

"I was never going to marry my then-boyfriend (now my husband). In fact, I was pretty close to breaking up with him. But then it happened. I got pregnant," she recalled.

Kim revealed that she had an abortion when she spoke about whether she was pregnant.

"He was casually threatening me with it. He is a little crazy," she continued.

A team member responded, "God... You can still get out of the marriage, though."

Kim said yes, only noting how her boyfriend controlled her social life. "He drinks, and all of a sudden, he is crazy," she said.

The exposé caused an outcry among fans and the public, extending discussions on the pressure public figures face in South Korea. The media has also been criticized for handling Kim's struggles, as compared to other recent scandals in the industry.
