Shin Ye Eun has revealed that some of her work on smash-hit K-drama The Glory left her damaged enough to experience insomnia and night terrors while they were filming.

During a recent episode of The Omniscient Point of View, the actress opened up about the psychological toll of portraying the teenage version of antagonist Park Yeon Jin in the popular Netflix series.
One of the drama's most talked-about moments involves a disturbing scene where Park Yeon Jin tortures a schoolmate using a hot curling iron.
Although the prop was cold during filming, Shin said the emotional weight of the moment was overwhelming.
"It's acting, and honestly we all film knowing that we're only acting," Shin said.

"But in that moment, like you just think, 'what am I doing?' It was a cold curling rod anyway that I was holding up to her, but the actress was crying her eyes out. So I just thought like, 'what am I doing?' and I ended up getting an outtake like that. When I went home, I ended up having nightmares."
Shin, 25, said the psychological impact from filming the scene lingered even after she left the set.
"I couldn't fall asleep without earplugs back then because of how sensitive I got while filming for The Glory," she said.
The revelation came during a candid moment while she was discussing her work on another drama, The Secret Romantic Guesthouse, with co-stars who asked her which project was more difficult to film.
The narrator then concluded the episode, explaining that "For Ye Eun, it was definitely the former."
Through it all, Shin was never showing her dedication to her roles. The Glory became one of South Korea's biggest television hits of 2023, and her performance received wide acclaim.
