There are many k-drama couples that met on set and eventually married but k-drama romances don't always have a happy ending.
Here are a few actors who dated their co-stars only to call it quits before they reached the altar.
Park Min Young and Lee Min Ho met on the set of "City Hunter." They dated for a few months following the end of the drama. They tried to avoid going public with their relationship but were seen dining out. It was difficult to meet, given their busy schedules and they broke up, but delayed going public with the breakup for a few months.
The public learned about Jung Woo Sung was dating his "Athena" co-star Lee Ji Ah when they were photographed together vacationing in Paris. It was on that vacation that she told him she had dated k-pop icon Seo Taiji. A month later she confessed that she had secretly married Seo Taiji and was filing for a divorce. The news that she was married caused a scandal. Jung Woo Sung would not say this news ended the relationship but it could not have helped. He did regret that things ended abruptly and they could not remain friends.
After the divorce from Lee Ji Ah, Seo Taiji went on to marry another actress Lee Eun Sung in 2013.
Choi Ji Woo, last seen in "The Suspicious Housekeeper" and Lee Jin Wook, last seen in "Nine: Nine Time Travels," dated for three years. The actors met while working on the MBC series "Air City" in 2007 but did not date until two years later. They broke up but have remained good friends.
Lee Dong Gun and Han Ji Hye met on the set of "Sweet 18," also known as "My Little Bride." Viewers thought they should marry in real life because they made such an adorable couple. Although they genuinely seemed to adore each other, they split after a couple of years.
Song Hye Kyo has had two public relationships with co-stars. She dated Lee Byung Hun, her co-star in the gambling drama "All In." Although they were said to have discussed wedding plans, they broke up after a year.
She also dated her "Worlds Within" co-star Hyun Bin. They did not start dating until 2009, after the drama ended and he returned from filming "Friend, Our Legend." In 2011 the couple split shortly after he enlisted for his two-year compulsory military duty.
It's sad that these k-drama couples did not work out, but compared to all the k-drama couples that met on set and married, the odds of finding true love on a k-drama set are ultimately not that bad. So fingers crossed for all the k-drama actors who are currently dating.
