While Kim Kardashian's Vogue cover with Kanye West is gaining a lot of notoriety, Naomi Campbell remains unimpressed.
In a recent interview with Australia's The Morning Show , the veteran supermodel expressed how she really feels about the reality star featured on the front of the epic fashion magazine.
"I do not want to comment," said Campbell just before laughing at the question.
When asked why she did not want to comment, the former Victoria's Secret model said, "Because I'm a fashion model and I've been working for 28 years, and when you get a Vogue cover, it's a build in your career. It's a stepping-stone to achieve that. And I'm a fashion model, what more can I say?"
According to E! News , this led a host of the show to ask, "So you think that Kim and Kanye haven't earned the right to be on the cover of Vogue?"
"Those are your words," Campbell, who's posed for the cover of Vogue multiple times, said politely. "I'm being politically correct. That's Anna Wintour's choice to put them on the cover of her magazine, who's to question it?"
As for Wintour, last week the Vogue editor in chief issued a statement backing Kimye's cover.
"Part of the pleasure of editing Vogue, one that lies in a long tradition of this magazine, is being able to feature those who define the culture at any given moment, who stir things up, whose presence in the world shapes the way it looks and influences the way we see it. I think we can all agree on the fact that that role is currently being played by Kim and Kanye to a T. (Or perhaps that should be to a K?)." said Wintour. "As for the cover, my opinion is that it is both charming and touching, and it was, I should add, entirely our idea to do it; you may have read that Kanye begged me to put his fiancée on Vogue's cover," she added. "He did nothing of the sort. The gossip might make better reading, but the simple fact of the matter is that it isn't true."
