While Lindsay Lohan appeared as a guest on Wednesday's taping of the "Late Show with David Letterman," the actress had the amazing idea to call her business partner Oprah Winfrey.
In the midst of discussing her reality show "Lindsay" that airs on Winfrey's OWN network, Lohan thought it would great to give her boss a ring.
"I think maybe I should just call her right," she said of the media mogul, who she refers to as her "mentor."
Pulling out her cell phone, Lohan asked Letterman, "Should we call Oprah?"
At first the veteran talk show host, who has announced his retirement from the late night show, was hesitant about calling "O."
Then when the "Mean Girls" actress sparked the crowd to chant "Oprah," 66-year-old Letterman was persuaded to do so. However, he decided to disguise his voice.
"Yes, could I speak to Oprah Winfrey, please? … Hi, this is Lindsay Lohan's secretary," he said.
"Who is this?" Winfrey questioned.
Caving in way too soon, Letterman said, "It's Dave, Oprah, it's Dave."
"Oh my God," "The Butler" actress laughed. "Very good, Dave! The David Letterman who's retiring?"
Following a bit of small talk, Letterman asked Winfrey to give her opinion on Lohan.
"I think she's doing really OK," she said. " To have cameras following you around for every phase of your life, and you are trying to pull your life together, I think that's a really difficult thing. So, yeah, we're really pleased she's making some progress."
Recently, Lohan admitted to breaking her sobriety with wine.
"I screwed up, and that's OK, but now what can I do so that doesn't happen again," Lohan said on the show. "And that's a part of the process. That's a part of life."
